only the sound
of crackling
ice cubes in
strawberry coloured
liquid grace the
mute space inside
their home.
once upon a time,
full of vibrant letters
hitting the paper
creating a colourful oasis.
now,
they struggle
to address the coldness of
unspoken truths.
As soon as,
tiny droplets
hit the windows
a cease-fire is enacted —
a short-lived summer’s rain
soothing their impasse.
That’s it for this week’s Imagine series. Created for your entertainment either to transport you to another realm or to make you smile/laugh at my less-than-stellar poetry.
Check out the ‘Week 36’ section from my ‘Mood Board’ over on Pinterest if you want to see what inspired this poem.
Thank you for reading!
Take care.
